Like millions of people around the world, we have spent the past several days in horror as details emerge about atrocities committed by Hamas. As Chair of the Board and CEO, we add our voices to those condemning the terrorist acts of Hamas and the slaughter of innocent civilians—babies, children, elderly people, families, people enjoying a concert, and others.
We echo the words of President Biden and other world leaders yesterday in their condolences and support for the people of Israel. As the statement among the leaders of the United States, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom in France described:
All of us recognize the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people, and support equal measures of justice and freedom for Israelis and Palestinians alike. But make no mistake: Hamas does not represent those aspirations, and it offers nothing for the Palestinian people other than more terror and bloodshed.
These attacks have come at a time when antisemitism is reaching new highs in the United States and around the world. It is a dangerous and unacceptable trend, and one that cannot be ignored.
In the days and weeks ahead, we will continue to hope for the release of hostages and an end to violence, and hold those affected in our hearts.
